Bhatkal: A free medical checkup camp was successfully held in Asiya Hospital of Bhatkal on Sunday, which was organized by Indiana Hospital Mangalore and Bhatkal Muslim Health foundation. Altogether 202 people got free health checkup and got expert opinions on their health from the qualified doctors, who had come from Mangaluru.
The timing of the camp was declared to be from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, but due to a large crowd present the camp ran on until 3:30 pm, making sure that each and every patient was given a proper check up. A team of expert cardiologists from Indiana Hospital Mangalore were present at the camp. The team consisted of Dr. Yusuf Kumble, Dr.Pradeep KJ, Dr. Abhijeet Shetty and Dr. Aditya who analyzed every patient efficiently.
In the camp, 38 patients got ECG done and 35 patients got ECO done which was given free of charge. Few patients were advised to visit Indian hospital Mangalore for Angiogram test.
For those few people who would not be able to travel to Mangalore or afford healthcare services such as angiogram and scanning, the founder of the Muslim Health Foundation made a special request to Dr. Yusuf Kumble who then promised to reduce 25% to 40% of the fees on angiogram and scanning.
Furthermore, Dr. Yusuf Kumble has agreed to a request from the Muslim Health Foundation for a special setup in Bhatkal for patients in case of emergencies. With the cooperation from the public and the Muslim Health Foundation, a branch will be opened within the next 3 months. He has also promised to get an expert team of doctors for the setup especially for cases such as delivery and heart patients.
President Abdul Kalaam Shabandari, Vice President Maulana Ansar Madani, Maulana Rahmatulla and Maulana Imran were also present at the camp.
