Haliyal: Garments of around Rs two lakh was gutted when a cloth outlet located on the main road in Haliyal caught fire due to short circuit recently.

The shop was owned by Mahantesh Hundekar.

The neighbouring shop keepers tried to douse the fire and also informed the fire fighters soon after the mishap. The fire fighters reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

Fire personnel P C George, C V Tulsikar, M B Shivangudi, Basavaraj Nekar and Adiveppa took part in the operation.
