Kumta: The Coastal Karnataka is continuously witnessing the road accidents from a couple of weeks which included a few tragedies related to gas tankers. Another recent one was reported in afternoon around 1pm of 27th October, Thursday on the NH66 near Betkuli gram limits in Kumta, leaving driver to sustain injuries.
As per the official reports, it was said that the tanker toppled on the national highway after the driver lost control over the vehicle. The tanker filled with gas belonged to Bharat petroleum and was on the way towards Mumbai from Mangaluru when the mishap took place.
As the information was received, the police personnel and the fire brigade team immediately rushed to the spot and conducted the necessary investigations and handled the incident. Traffic breakdown due to the incident was seen for a while, after which it was cleared by police.
In this regard, a case has been registered at Kumta police station.
