Bhatkal: A gas filled tanker overturned 30kms from here at Gunvante National Highway 66, under Manki police station limits today afternoon. The incident have spread fear among people of surrounding area regarding their safety. But the reports have confirmed that the gas has not leaked from the tanker. The NH has been blocked as the result of accident.

The social worker of Manki, Zakir Katangari has informed that as soon as the news spread, the police team along with the fire brigade personnels reached the spot and closed the national highway for the traffic post accident. However, the traffic are being forwarded to another route. It is told that the houses surrounding the area have been evacuated as a precaution to the chances of gas leak from the tanker. Presently, Efforts are being made to erect the gas tanker safely.
