Honnavar: The early morning hours of 24th September, Sunday, turned horrific after a gas-filled tanker turned turtle near Gersoppa circle on NH-66 here at Honnavar.

Sources from Honnavar informed that the gas leakage from the tanker was rectified due to the incident. Fearing the tragedy, the nearby restaurants were noticed to shut down and the traffic movement on the highway was provided with an alternate route.

During the incident, the speedy tanker was on the way towards Hubli from Mangaluru. Observing the safety, all types of safety precautions have been arranged at the spot. The fire brigade team have rushed to the spot.

A case has been registered in Honnavar police station.
