Kumta: The Goan liquor worth thousands was seized near Mirjan by the police when a team led by excise department went for inspection. The liquor was found in a small shed located nearby the BGS School in Mirjan.
The shed belonged to Ashok Patgar, a Mirjan based resident where 270 liters of Goan liquor worth more than 72 thousand rupees was hidden.
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by the superintendent of Honnavar excise department Mahindra Naik and Kumta excise department superintendent Sudhirkumar immediately rushed to the spot and seized the alcoholic drinks. Police personnels Sayyed Hameed, Gourish Gouda, Lokesh Borkar, Nityananda Vaidya, Melroy Fernandez, Dayanand Talekar and others participated in a raid.
