Haliyal: Haliyal police have arrested a man who was involved in threatening a pedestrian with lethal weapons and attempting to snatch her mangalsutra. He was then produced in the court.

The accused is identified as Sunil Vithal Dundsi (20), of Arebasavankoppa village in Kalghatagi of Dharwad district. 

The accused riding a bike, threatened Najima Shamshuddin Naik of Guttibail village in Haliyal taluk with a knife while she was returning home after dropping her son to school.

Accused fled the scene when Najima screamed on the road for help. 

Haliyal police had registered a case in this regard.
