Uttara Kannada records hefty rainfall: Creates traffic breakdown; Hits normal life

Bhatkal: Uttar-Kannada, the coastal district of Karnataka acquired continues and hefty rainfall from last two days, causing inconvenience for the traffic on the national highway that also grieved the seasonal business establishments. 

The hefty rainfall have made the coastal cities including Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Honnavar and Bhatkal to go off the mood observing the climatic wetness.

Karwar, after receiving the heavy rainfall, a hilly part near Muduga has completely collapsed which inturn screwed up the traffic flow on NH66 for certain period of time. Later, the IRB officials arrived at the spot and opened the way after clearing the mud fallen on road.

The lashing waters entered the Keni grama in Ankola, causing difficulties among the residents. Around 15 houses were vacated by revenue officials as a safety precaution.

Speaking about Kumta, the wall of a well which was full of water, located near Santegulli gram limits have collapsed creating fear among the residents.

Kumta, Honnavar and Bhatkal too received continues and tremendous rainfall, which made many businesses establishments go faint and disrupted the normal life.
