Bhatkal:The members of Madina Welfare Society have submitted memorandum to the Bhatkal Hescom Assistant engineer regarding the disorder in issue of monthly electric bill demanding that problem may be resolved at the earliest. The residents have alleged that the meter reading agents who ought to come to houses on 9th of every month for meter reading are delaying their arrival for six to seven days. Thus the bill is issued with extra six to seven days reading being calculated, but the date on the bill is fixed as 9th.

Speaking to Assistant Engineer Mr Manjunath, the president of Madina Welfare Society Maulana Irfan Nadvi has said that this chaos in meter reading is creating a difficulty for public as they end up paying extra amount to the board. Also that the meter reading on 9th which is to be actually noted is not being read at all. On the other hand the 14 days deadline which is given to the public for paying the bill is shortened and the delay in paying the bill even for a few days is demanding penalty. Another member ,Mr. Nayeem Kokari has a notion that the same problem which is being faced by the Madina Colony residents may be prevailing in other areas also, but the public is unaware of it yet.

Mr. Manjunath after listening to the complaint of Madina Welfare Society members has assured them that he will look into the problem and make sure the meter reading are matched with particular dates. He informed that tender with meter reading agency has finished and not yet renewed which has resulted in the disorder in meter readings. He assured that the re tendering will be done at the earliest and problem will be solved. Also that action will be taken against the meter reading agents if found guilty. Abdul Jaleel Khateeb, Nayeemulla Shaikh along with many others were present at the occasion.
