Ankola: A Grade-9 student lost his life after he slipped into a water well at Kumbarkeri village in Ankola in the early hours of Wednesday, 5th September.

The deceased is identified as Vishal Vinod Achari, aged 15.

Sources informed that the incident happened as the boy's legs slipped, which caused him to lose the balance and fall into the open well. The body was later recovered from the well with the help of fire brigade personnel.

A case has been registered in Ankola police station.
