Honnavar: In the early morning around 5:30am of 28th September, Wednesday, a grisly road accident took place near Gunvante NH-66 of Honnavar, when private a bus toppled causing 16 passengers to sustain grievous injuries.

As per the official reports, all 16 injured passengers have been shifted to Manipal hospital among which 4 passengers are traced to be in very serious condition and 2 others have lost their hands. 

An eyewitness said that the incident took place when a speedy bus was overtaking another vehicle. The bus boarded nearly 31 passengers and was plying from Mumbai to Mangaluru. 

As the information was received, the police personnel rushed the spot and conducted the necessary investigations. Further details are awaited.

In this regard, a case has been registered in Manki police station limits and further investigations are on.
