Honnavar: The suspended Honnavar station constable Satish Naik has fallen ill on Sunday late night and has been taken to Manipal Hospital for treatment.

Constable Satish Naik along with three other was deputed on night shift at the check post in Kasarkod. Satish was absent from duty when higher police officials went there on August 26 midnight. Due to this, PSI Anand Murthy submitted a report to the higher officials and based on the report, Bhatkal ASP issued a suspension order to the constable on August 28.

“As soon as my husband learnt that he was suspended on Sunday evening, he underwent stress. He then went to the police station and returned. At 11:00 pm, he collapsed in the room. Later, he was taken to the hospital with the help of friends. The doctors on duty at the taluk government hospital gave first aid. Later, he was taken to Manipal hospital gave first aid. Later, he was taken to Manipal Hospital for advanced treatment”, said Satish Naik’s wife and local Taluk Panchayat member Gayatri Naik.

His brother Santosh Naik said that Satish is recovering at the hospital.
