Huballi: It has been urged by the leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Jagadish Shettar and MP Prahlad Joshi to the government to order a probe into the alleged irregularities in construction of houses and their distribution under the slum development programme.

According to sources, a visit was paid by Jagdish Shettar to the colony on Mantur Road here on 3rd July, Monday and he has addressed the reporters regarding his visit saying that it appears that the funds provided for the construction of houses have been misused.

He further added, “It was a Rs 13 crore project executed in 2006. The houses built are of poor quality materials and are not fit for living. A proper inquiry must be ordered by the government and a senior IAS officer must be sent for this purpose. A criminal case should be filed against the officials of the Karnataka Slum Development Board, who are responsible for the same.”

MP Pralad Joshi said that the state government should file a suo motu case in this connection.
