Hubli: Following the series of farmer suicide cases in Dharwad district, another farmer has ended his life by hanging to a tree on 8th August, Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Ajith Krishnareddy Gurdy (36), a resident of Halikeri village in the Navalgund taluk in the district.
According to the sources, Ajith’s body was found hanging under a tree at Shankoot ground in Hasu Kousogal village.
It has been gathered that Ajith had borrowed loans upto Rs. 2.46 lakh from various government banks. It is suspected that due to the mental pressure of repaying the loan, the farmer had to take this extreme step.
A case has been registered at Navalgund police station.
