Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi tweeted on Thursday saying he stood by his controversial remarks on RSS.

He also tweeted a link to his 2014 speech in which he had said, “RSS people killed Gandhiji.”

An RSS worker has sued Rahul for defamation over the speech.

“I will never stop fighting hateful and the divisive agenda of RSS,” Rahul added.

Rahul’s comments came a day after he told Supreme Court that he had never accused the RSS as an institution of killing Mahatma Gandhi.

He told Supreme Court that he had only blamed "people associated with it" for the shooting of the Mahatma in 1948.

Critics and the BJP said that amounted to Mr Gandhi conceding a big error.
