Mangaluru: The demand for setting up valuation centres to evaluate the answer scripts of all the subjects in II PUC has been partially met by the state government. Along with giving permission for evaluating additional five subjects, three evaluation centres have been opened in the district.
With this, the district has nine evaluation centres to evaluate 12 subject answer scripts.
So far, answer scripts of science, Hindi, computer science, Arabic and statistics were evaluated only in Bengaluru. The Dakshina Kannada Pre-University Colleges Principals’ Association had submitted a memorandum to start evaluation centres to evaluate all the subject answer scripts in the district. Minister for Primary and Secondary Education B C Nagesh has responded positively by partially meeting the demands. There are more than 200 PU colleges in DK. More than 2,000 lecturers from DK, Udupi, Uttara Kannada will evaluate the asnwer scripts of 12 subjects in Dakshina Kannada.
