Bhatkal: Lions Club of Murdeshwar honored and felicitated the Bhatkal taluk's meritorious students for their excellent achievements in education.

The students who were honored were Mariam Haneen d/o Irshad Peshmam of Anjuman girls college, who secured the first rank for Bhatkal taluk in 2nd PUC arts stream. It might be noted that Mariam Haneen was declared as the first rank holder in Uttara Kannada district too after the revaluation result increased by 06 marks.

Other students included Apeksha Murdeshwar, who secured 1st rank in SSLC from Bhatkal taluk, Poorvi M Naik for securing 1st rank 2nd PU science and  Sahana Naik for her 1st rank achievements in 2nd PU commerce.

On this occasion, present as the chief guest Dr. Sandeep Anvekar, Industrialist DJ Naik Kamat and others addressed the gathering.

The oath was also taken​ from the new office bearers of Murdeshwar Lions Club. The newly elected president is Manjunath Naik and secretary as Philip Almeda. They too expressed their feelings on the occasion. Shivanand Devimane elected as the post of treasurer.

Ex-president Dr. Vadiraj Bhat welcomed the guests. Secretary Suresh Naik presented the report. Treasurer Mohan Naik was present on the dais. All the members of the club including general people were present on the occasion.
