Bhatkal: The Karnataka government has appointed IPS officer Ranu Gupta as the new Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) of Bhatkal Sub-Division.

Gupta, who hails from Bihar, is a 2024-batch IPS officer of the Karnataka cadre. He had been serving as a District Probationary Training (DPT) officer in Tumakuru district since December 29, 2025, until the latest government order. Following the order, Gupta reached Bhatkal and assumed charge as the new ASP of Bhatkal Sub-Division.
