Bhatkal celebrates Karnataka Rajyotsava day with gaeity

Bhatkal: Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated with gaiety at the taluka Stadium Maidan, Nawayth Colony, Bhatkal here on November 1 on behalf of theTaluka Administration. The programme commenced with the rendering of the state anthem or Naada Geethe followed. 

Presding over the function, Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik, said, Karnataka is the state which is comprised of people of all caste, race, grades etc. The people of Karnataka should maintain their 'Kannadiga' tag irrespective of where they stay. We should unite and work effectively to build our state

Speaker of the function, Gangadhar Naik, President of Bhatkal Taluka Sahitya Parishad said  Kannada literature has unique concepts, thinking and values. We should try to make them reach young minds. We are fortunate to have born in the land of Kannada. The flag of Kannada will fly high if we preserve our tradition and self confidence,  he added.

He also stressed the need to protect the tradition and culture and language of this great land called Karnataka.

Earlier , Bhatkal MLA Sunil Naik offered a pooja and flagged off the procession of Kannada Bhuvaneshwari which was held from New English School to Taluka Maidan in Nawayath Colony, Bhatkal.

On the occasion, Seven people were felicitated for their services in their respective fields. The persons who were honoured with certificates and mementos were Poornima Naik, Keshav Acharya, Narayan Naik, Pallavi Nayak, Gajanana Hebbar, M.K Nayak, Suresh Shankar and Virendra Shanbag.

School-children from various school of the Bhatkal taluk presented mass drill and performed dance to mark the occasion.

Manjula Shiroor and Shiridhar Shet Shirali compered the event.

Bhatkal Tahshildar V N Badkar welcomed the gathering, BEO Munji delivered the vote of Thanks.

Assistant Commissioner Sajid Mulla, TMC Vice-President Mohammed Ashfaque KM, Taluka Pattana Panchayat President Adam Panambur, DySP Valentine D’Souza, KDP Member Azeem SM, Abdur Rawoof Naitey and Many others were present.
