Bhatkal: A complaint has been lodged in Bhatkal police station against an editor of a Kannada TV news channel allegedly for his provocative statement against Bhatkal citizens during his debate on a recent controversy of Coorg school students being distributed with tridents and trained with firearms by Bajrangdal. It is alleged that during a debate, he made a provocative remark saying "Bhatkalis have AK-47 rifles with them".

Taking stern notice of this comment, Waseem Maneger of Bhatkal has lodged a written complaint against the channel's editor at Bhatkal town Police Station and demanded that legal action be taken against this provocative comment.

Attaching the CD of the TV debate as evidence, the complaint states that all the citizens of Bhatkal have been slandered by his remarks. Such comments often create doubts in the minds of the people, especially against Muslims and the threat of conflict increases between Hindus and Muslims, who are living in peace in the society. Hence the news channel editor should be prosecuted.

It may be remembered that Waseem Manager, who complained to the police station, is the District General Secretary of SDPI.
