Karwar: As part of Karavali Utsav–2025, a helicopter joy ride was launched on Wednesday in Karwar. The service was inaugurated near London Bridge by Satish K. Sail, Chairman of Karnataka Marketing Communication and Advertising Limited (KMCA) and Karwar-Ankola MLA.
Speaking on the occasion, Satish Sail said the programme was successfully conducted with the support of various government departments and the event management team.
Uttara Kannada Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmi Priya stated that the ticket price for the helicopter joy ride has been fixed at ₹3,900. She said the service will operate for five days, from 9 am to 4 pm, with each flight lasting around seven minutes, offering an aerial view of Karwar and nearby areas.
The helicopter joy ride was inaugurated by offering the first free ride to students of Asha Niketan Special School, who experienced a helicopter flight for the first time.
On the occasion, Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Dr. Dileesh Shashi, Deputy Director of Tourism Mangala Gauri Bhatt, and other officials were present.
The entire cost of the free helicopter ride for the special children was borne by MLA Satish K. Sail and his family, and four women sanitation workers were also provided the same facility.
