Karwar: The Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 of the electoral rolls is progressing rapidly across Uttara Kannada district, with 11,11,885 voter enumeration forms already digitised, according to District Election Officer and Deputy Commissioner K. Lakshmipriya.

The district has a total of 12,30,037 registered voters, and enumeration forms have been distributed to every elector as part of the ongoing revision process.

During the house-to-house verification drive conducted so far, election officials have identified 89,689 cases requiring updates to the electoral rolls. These include 34,575 voters who have permanently migrated, 41,103 deceased voters, and 10,349 duplicate entries, the Deputy Commissioner said.

The verification and digitisation exercise is being carried out as part of the Election Commission's SIR-2026 to ensure that the electoral rolls are accurate and up to date.
