District incharge secretary Manish Mudgil instructs officials to pay surprise visits to govt offices

Karwar  : Uttara Kannada district-in-charge Secretary Manish Mudgil has asked district administration officials team to pay surprise visits to government-run hostels, hospitals, Anganwadis, fair-price shops, and various other offices in order to make administration more active.

He noted this while reviewing the progress in various government departments at a meeting held in DC office in Karwar on Wednesday. He said, constant supervision is required for ensuring proper implementation of various government schemes and programmes.

Hence, a team official should be informed, and inspection of various departments and offices should be carried out on an ongoing basis. This would result in providing better administration.

Apart from taking strict action against the erring officials, it should be ensured that steps are taken for reforming the system, he observed.

He said, workers related to the individual beneficiaries could also be taken up under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS).

He asked the officials to speed up the implementation of Ambedkar and Vajpayee housing schemes.

An action plan should be finalized for speedy implementation of the housing schemes in the urban areas. Steps have been taken for providing required documents, and to remove the obstacles in the implementation of these housing schemes, he stated.

Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Gutti Jambunaath, and officials from various departments from various departments wree present at the review meeting.

Mr Manish Mudgil, who is also managing director of Rajiv Gandhi Rural Housing Corporation Ltd, later visited Konenaal and Nandagadda areas in Karwar, and inspected the housing facilities.
