Kasargod: A young couple allegedly committed suicide by consuming poison, that reported here at Kolichal, Panathady on 10th July, Monday.
The deceased were identified as Sunil Kumar (32) and his wife Jayalakshmi (22). Both of them were found dead in their room at their house along with a death note.
According to police sources, it is believed that financial crisis led the couple to take this extreme step. When the couple did not come out of their house for a long while, their neighbors went to check on them and found the couple lying dead in one of the rooms. The couple mixed poison in milk and consumed it, police said.
The sources state that Sunil was cheated by an agency and he had lost a lot of money collected from several persons to procure their Visas. As he ended up owing a debt over Rs. 50 lakh to his clients, he took this measure not being able to cope with the financial pressure.
Their son was found sleeping in the next room unaware of what had befell his parents.
A case has been registered at Rajapuram police station.
