Kumta: A boat loaded with sand, capsized in Aghnashini river under Divgi bridge here at Kumta on the afternoon of 19th September, Tuesday and the person in the boat is reportedly missing after he went drowning in the river.

The missing boatman is said to be Krishna Gajanan Deshbandari. However, the search for his body is underway with the help of fire brigade personnel.

As the information was alerted, Kumta tahsildar Megharaj Naik rushed to the spot along with fire brigade personnel. The locals too are involved in the search operation of body.
