Kumta: In a tragic incident, two brothers drowned in the sea at Gokarna's Kudle beach, a tourist destination around 30km from city in Kumta taluk. Incident reported on 17th of September.

The deceased brothers were identified as Abhinav Khandoja (25) and Gokul Khandoja (23), hailing from Haryana. Both employed at a private company.

Sources have informed that, the incident took place when a group of seven friends had come to Gokarna for a trip and had gone for swimming. The heavy lashing waves washed away both brothers after which the locals tried helping, but failed to save their lives. 

An elder brother, Abhinav Khandoja's body was rescued  at a critical condition, but later he succumbed. Gokul's body was recovered later with the help of coastal security police and Gokarna police.

A case has been registered in Gokaran police station.
