Kumta: A road accident was reported between a mini goods rickshaw and a bike, when the wheel unit of a rickshaw collapsed and as a result hit the bike rider who sustained serious injuries. The incident took place near industrial area at Hegde road in Kumta on 22nd August, Monday. 

The injured bike rider has been is Krishna Ramu Mukri (32), a resident of Baggon in Kumta.

The incident took place when bike was on the way towards Industrial area at Kumta, while rickshaw filled with vegetables was on the opposite direction. As the rear wheel of the rickshaw collapsed, the driver lost control over vehicle and collided with the approaching bike. 

With the help of locals, the injured was shifted to Honnavar hospital for more treatments after having initial treatments at Kumta government hospital.
