Kundapur: In a tragic accident near Tarekudlu, close to Kamalashile, a bike collided with a sambar deer on Saturday afternoon, resulting in the death of the rider on the spot and leaving the pillion rider critically injured.

The deceased has been identified as Shreyas Mogaveera (23) of Kavradi. The injured pillion rider has been identified as Vighnesh and has been admitted to a private hospital in Kundapur.

According to police, the two friends were returning to Nellikatte after visiting the Kamalashile temple when a large sambar deer suddenly came in front of their bike. The rider lost control, hit the deer, and the bike overturned, causing the fatal accident.

Shankaranarayana police visited the spot and registered a case.
