Sirsi: Officials of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted an surprise raid and trapped Land Surveyor Mallesh G, working with Land Survey Department, while receiving the bribe from a farmer.

Farmer Shreedhar Hegde of Tuduguni of Sirsi taluk had submitted an application for conducting survey of his land.

However, land surveyor Mallesh G had demanded a bribe of Rs 5,000 for conducting the survey.

Besides, he was also constantly harassing the farmer.

Unable to bear it, a much harassed Shreedhar Hegde finally lodged a complaint with the anti corruption bureau. On Friday morning, a team of ACB led by DySP Girish, CPI Ramesh Hanapur, Krishna Balegadde conducted a raid and took Mallesh to their custody.

Even earlier, Mallesh had been suspended in a case of corruption while working at Chintamani in Kolar district.
