Karwar: In two different incidents, excise police have arrested three persons at Majali Check Post in the City, on Saturday, on the charges of transporting Goan liquor illegally. 

The arrested have been identified as Naveen Kumar, Dayanand, residents of Turuvekere in Tumkur and Damodar Ulwekar, a resident of the city. Police arrested Naveen and Dayanand when they were transporting 94-litre liquor of various brands, in a bus. 

Damodar was arrested when he was transporting 51 litre beer and whisky on his bike.
