Mangalore:  A cleaner died when the lorry in which he was travelling rammed a parked container near puttur on Bangalore - Mangalore National Highway on Wednesday early morning.

According to sources the truck loaded with vegetables was coming from Hassan when it collided to a parked container from the rear side. The container was parked at the roadside near Puttur.

The deceased has been identified as Muhammed Ilyas (40), a resident of Uppinangady and was professionally a cleaner of the vegetable loaded truck.

The incident happened near Udane national highway in Puttur taluk. The impact of the accident was so severe that the cleaner Ilyas succumb to his injuries on the spot.

Police personnel rushed to the spot and conducted necessary investigations and further investigations are on. 

A case was registered at Puttur police station.
