Udupi: In a road accident that happened on Byndoor highway in Udupi district on Tuesday night, a man who was riding pillion was killed on the spot after his motorbike was knocked down by a truck.

The deceased youth was identified as Subhash, aged 24. 

The accident took place when Subhash was traveling along with a friend from Bhatkal to Byndoor. A speeding truck hit the motorbike from behind as the driver tried to overtake another vehicle.

Byndoor police have registered a case and arrested the truck driver.
