Malpe: A woman was arresed by the Malpe police on 18th September, Monday on charges of torturing her Father-in-law and Mother-in-law.
The accused has been identified as Ashwini Pai, a resident of Thenkanidiyur near Lakshminagar.
According to sources, Ashwini lived in a rented house with her husband Lakshmana Pai and his parents Venkatesh Pai of Indrali and Anitha Veena Pai. Lakshmana was their eldest son.
However, it was learnt that Ashwini used to torture the elderly couple and recently she assaulted them badly. Following this, Anitha Pai was admitted to the hospital and an attempt to murder case was filed against Ashwini at Malpe police station.
Ashwini fled and was absconding but was recently found and arrested by the Malpe police on Monday. Upon being produced at the court, she has been remanded judicial custody until 28th September.
