Kundapur: Man dead after getting hit by express train while crossing tracks

Kundapur: A man lost his life after getting hit by an express train while crossing the railway track on Thursday morning near Senapur Gate of taluka.

It is told that Manjunath Devadiga (60) was on his way towards his wife’s home at Senapur after buying fish from the Gangolli market, when he was suddenly hit by the Mumbai-Mangalore CST Express Train while crossing the railway tracks. Sadly, the body parts of the deceased were strewn across the accident spot post-accident.

Soon after receiving the new,s the youth of 24X7 helpline service of Gangolli reached the spot and gathered the strewn parts of the deceased under the guidance of Ibrahim MH, which were later taken to the nearest Government Hospital.

Mujunath was the resident of Mulikatte and has five children.

 It is said that he was probably under the effect of drugs which made him miss the noise or sight of the approaching train.

Gangolli police has registered the case and further investigations are on.
