Mangaluru: Around eight students were arrested by Mangaluru CCB police on the charges of supplying 'Ganja' to the college students here in Mangaluru.

The arrested are identified as Akshaya K Prasad (22), Namil (21), Amit Sri (21), Ashwin (21), Akash Nair (23), Akshay (22) and Muhammad Amir (22) of Kerala, and Jaffar (22) of Mangaluru. It is said that they were residing at Kadri near Mangaluru. 

Among the eight, seven are Engineering students of two different colleges, and one is a student of physiotherapy college.

Police on receiving credible information, conducted a raid on a ground near Morgan gate, where they arrested the accused and also seized Ganja products. Police confiscated 500 grams of Ganja valuing 12 thousand rupees, 8 mobile phones, 4000 cash amount and two bikes from the accused's possession. The total value of seized product is estimated as 1,69,050 rupees.
