Mangaluru: Seventeen members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) face charges for staging an unauthorized protest in Mangaluru.

The demonstration aimed to demand the arrest of RSS leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat but lacked police permission.

Despite warnings, protesters persisted, chanting slogans against the government.

DYFI leaders, including B K Imthiyaz and Santhosh Kumar Bajal, were charged under IPC Sections 143, 147, 341, 268, and 149. DYFI state president Muneer Katipalla criticized the case, asserting their right to protest and claiming police notification about the event.
