Mangaluru: A special court has convicted Sampaje former VA Vinod Kumar for accepting a bribe. The court sentenced 1 year of imprisonment and also attracted a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.

He had accepted a bribe of Rs 3,000 for change in RTC. Naseema had applied for a change in RTC in June 2013. The VA had demanded a bribe of Rs 3,000. Naseema’s brother Mohammed Haneef submitted a complaint to the Lokayukta Police. The Lokayukta police arrested him while he was accepting the bribe and a charge sheet was filed in the court.
