Udupi: Yet another unique protest was staged by Zilla Nagarika Samiti general seretary Nityananda Volakadu demanding repair of the road from Syndicate Circle to MIT.

This time, Nityananda offered ‘Urulu Seve’ (rolling on the ground) at a protest which was organized by several organizations near Manipal Tiger Circle on 15th September, Friday.

He performed the Urulu Seve for around 200 meters and alleged that the authorities have failed to repair the road despite the protests. He urged that the works need to be taken up as soon as monsoon ends.

The protest was supported by the students of Manipal Madhava Pai Memorial college and local auto rickshaw drivers.

Earlier, Nityananda had performed a similar protest where he swam in the rain water in potholes on the road following which the authorities had filled the potholes within a week but however the stretch has become too dusty after the repair.
