Mangaluru: The Second Additional District and Sessions Court and Special Court has convicted a man on the charges of sexually assaulting a minor.

The court sentenced Yathish Karkera, a resident of Mithabailu to four years of imprisonment and slapped a fine of Rs 25,000.

He had sexually assaulted a minor girl after luring her with a dress and a mobile phone on December 14, 2013. He had even threatened her of dire consequences if she had revealed the incident with anyone.

Judge B R Pallavi has asked authorities to pay Rs 15,000 out of Rs 25,000 fine to the victim.
