Mangaluru: A 27-year-old tempo driver was assaulted and stabbed by a group of miscreants in an alleged case of road rage at Masthikatte in Ullal on the outskirts of the city on 11th July, Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Austin Monteiro. s/o Lawrence. Austin was driving a goods tempo when he was attacked. He was admitted to a hospital in Ullal and has suffered stab injuries to his hand.
According to sources, the incident occurred when a group travelling in a Ford car was not allowed to overtake Austin’s tempo. They lost their temper and attacked Austin near Ullal junction and fled from the spot.
A case has been registered at Ullal police station.
