Mangaluru: The Additional Sessions and Fast Track POCSO Court of Mangaluru sentenced a man from Shibaje in Belthangady taluk to 10 years of rigorous imprisonment in a case pertaining to the rape of a minor girl, here on Wednesday .

A complaint was lodged in Dharmasthala Police Station on June 27, 2019 against Naveen(27). The victim who became pregnant following the incident later underwent an abortion. The Belthangady Police had investigated the case and filed a chargesheet.

It is said that Naveen had in the year 2017 raped the victim’s elder sister and impregnated her. Later he was arrested and released on bail and had then married the victim and was staying in her house. Even while he was married, he eyed his wife’s sister and raped her several times.
