Karwar: A minibus belonging to KPC department, witnessed an accident after it fell into the gorge of about 15-20 feet and stuck in the mid of tree bunch. Around 30 persons traveling in it sustained injuries. The accident happened near Kadra in Karwar taluk on Saturday.

Sources said that the accident happened after the driver lost the control of the vehicle as the steering belt collapsed when it was boarding towards Kodasalli village in the taluk from Kadra region. 

The bus after falling into the gorge was able to stop as it collided with the trees, which would otherwise have given an ugly turn as there was a dam few feets ahead.

The injured were shifted to Kadra hospital for treatment. A case has been registered in Kadra police station.
