Bhatkal: Mohan Naik was elected as President and Shailesh Vaidya as General secretary of the Bhatkal Taluka Working Journalists Association in the election held on Monday. Atiqur Rahman Shabandari was elected as vice-president, while Fayyaz Mulla was chosen as treasurer. The office-bearers were elected unanimously.
On the occasion, senior journalist R.K. Bhatt congratulated the newly elected office-bearers and urged them to work towards making the association more active. Another senior journalist, Satish Kumar Naik, said that with the new team, they should meet state minister and Bhatkal MLA Mankal Vaidya regarding the construction of a dedicated building for the journalists’ association in Bhatkal and make all possible efforts to strengthen and activate the association.
Honorary president of the association M.R. Manvi, along with Raghuvendra Hebbar, Rizwan Gangavalli, Maulavi Azhar Barmawar, Vishnu Devadiga, Manmohan Naik, Lokesh Naik, Prasanna Bhatt, Eshwar Naik, Bhaskar Naik and Inayatullah Gawai were present on the occasion.
