Mundgod: Four robbers held with booty

Mundgod: Within a week, Mundgod police resolved a robbery case reported at a Lama house in Tibetan Colony in Karwar town with the arrest of four persons. Cash, gold and mobile phones were recovered from their possession

The arrested are Vasanth Koravar of Gandhinagar, Manju Navale and Kiran Solanki of Anand Nagar Layout in Mundgod town and Madhusingh Rajput of Basapur village. The police recovered gold ornaments worth `4 lakh, damaged high-end mobile phones and `4.5 lakh. They also seized two two-wheelers, a sword and a knife.

On January 19 night, a gang of four robbers attacked Janjchup Rachan Tenzing (46), a Lama, with sword and burgled his house. The Lama, who sustained injuries, was taken to hospital.At the time of the attack, the attackers had told the victim that they would hurt his sister if he did not give money.

They were talking in Hindi. As local informers alerted the police about four people, the police rushed to the spot and arrested them. They were produced before the court, which remanded them in 14-day judicial custody. Search is on for another accused in the case.
