Bhatkal: A 22-year old Tamilnadu based youth was saved by the lifeguard team from drowning in the sea on the afternoon of 20th August, Sunday here at Murdeshwar beach in Bhatkal taluk.

The tourist, who was saved, was identified as Jaykanth, a resident of Tamilnadu state. A group of friends had been to Murdeshwar beach on Sunday on a tourist base and while playing into the sea, Jaykanth got struck into the water. Observed this by the nearby lifeguard person, immediately swam near him and was successful in saving. 

He was saved by the lifeguard youth Rohit Harikanta Jayaram Harikanta.
