Bhatkal: Three tourists drown at sea off Murdeshwar beach; two bodies traced.

Bhatkal: Two bodies of the youths, who drowned at sea off Murdeshwar beach in Bhatkal taluk on Thursday, were traced by the police search party on Friday. Search is on for another person, Soubindar Kumar Gowda.

Three tourists from Mandya who had come to picnic at the Murdeshwara beach were drowned on Thursday. They were identified as Karthik Manjegouda (19), Puneet Nagraj Gouda (26) and Subindar Kumar Gowda (20). They were part of a nine-member group that came to Murdeshwara for the Dasara holidays. According to eyewitnesses, they ventured too far to sea and drowned. It is also said that efforts to save them were in vain.

According to sources, among the drowned youths, one was working a supplier in a hotel, another was a driver and third one was self-employed.

On October 14th, Friday the two bodies were found. They were identified as Karthik Manjegouda (19) and Puneet Nagrajgouda (20).

The district administration have already launched the search operation with coastal security police with the help of local fishermen, the search operation will continue to trace the third person, it is said.
