Bhatkal: The Nationwide rally to support democracy and rights, 'Samvidhan Samman Yatra' under the aegis of National Alliance of People’s Movements (NAPM) reached Bhatkal on Wednesday.
A group of around 40 people arrived by bus and two cars to make people aware about the constitution and the trend to harm consitituional value by some influential persons.
In Bhatkal, they were welcomed by the local citizens along with political leaders at Shamsuddin circle. In a brief program arranged at the venue, M R Manvi, a local journalist, welcomed the members of NAPM and other people present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhupindra Singh Rawat, from Jan Sangharsh Vahini, Delhi, said that the current scenario of our nation is very danger as Dalits and Muslims are lynched in the name of cow. The mob who should be declared accused of lynching are getting felicitated by the central ministers. People of RSS burnt our constitution in front of parliament, but sadly no case has been booked against them. "Our country will be in danger, if the constitution is unsafe", he noted.
The yatra proceeded towards Sagar road in the form of procession.
A local political leader, Inayatullah Shabandari thanked the members of NAPM and also the people who took part in the yatra.
It shall be noted that the yatra has started from Dandi, Gujrat and will go throughout the country and is expected to end by 10th December at Delhi.
It is said that the rally shall travel more than 25000 Kms through 26 states in 65 days holding meetings, discussions, public events, supporting struggles, sharing grief of victims of the violence and hate and spreading message of plurality, love, peace and social justice. The Yatra shall culminate in a Manvadhikar Rally and Jan Sansad in Delhi on 10th December, 2018, the International Human Rights Day.
