Karwar: Navy vessel INS Koswari has been sent from Karwar naval port for searching eight fishermen who were on board fishing boat ‘Suvarna Thribhuja’
which has been missing since Sunday.

The fishing boat from Malpe in Udupi district had set sail for deep sea fishing on December 13 and it was in touch with other fishermen. But they lost
contact with the boat from Sunday.

INS Koswari, docked at INS Kadamba Naval Base near Karwar was deployed to search for the missing boat and its crew.

Along with Koswari, two drones of the navy were also deployed on Tuesday for the search operation. Apart from the navy, Indian Coast Guard also deployed its aircraft and ships for the purpose.

On Tuesday, a man from Malpe tweeted about the missing boat to Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who directed to navy and the coast guards to
look into the matter.
