Bhatkal: Hundreds of students from all over Karnataka participated in a protest staged under the banner of NSUI and boycotted the classes against the disorganization and management issues of the Vishweshwarya Technical University (VTU) Belguam. Students of Anjuman Institute of Technology and Management Bhatkal also took part in the protest.

The enraged students claimed that the examination answer papers were not being evaluated in a proper manner due to which more than 70% of students fail in the exams. But surprisingly when the same students apply for re-evaluation they get cleared. This has put the students into difficulty. Students alleged that if the evaluation was not done in a proper way, the students should have the right to question the authorities. Students also claimed that the administrative body of the university was so bad that not even a single work was done on time. The certificates were also not provided on time. The first year students were lagging behind due to no carry over. The students have demanded that the carry-over be applicable till the final year and many other such issues be solved which were being faced by the students.
