Bantwal: The DCIB police here at Keddalike on Monday arrested a man on the charges of illegally transporting explosives.

The arrested is Chinnaswamy (70), a resident of Poonjalkatte in Bantwal.

 
The police waylaid him and checked his two-wheeler, where he was trying to transport explosives illegally towards Poonjalkatte from Nelligudde. They recovered 15 gelatin sticks, 99 detonators from his possession and seized two-wheeler.

The seized property is worth Rs 1,05,000, said SP Ravikanthe Gowda.
